The next day, Brizee sat in the living room playing with Jason. Nick had gone to hang out with AJ and Howie. The doorbell rang. Brizee got up and opened the door and saw Laura standing there.

      What do you want, Brizee said.

      We have to talk, Laura said.

      Just go and leave me and my family alone, okay, you are nothing but a liar, Brizee said.

      Brizee, they are the liars, I have proof, Jackie called me and yelled at me for telling you the truth, Laura said.

      Stop it! Brizee yelled. Laura pulled out a tape player and played the tape and Brizee heard Jackies voice.

      Laura, how could you tell her the truth, Ill lose her now that she knows that we gave her up for adoption, Jackie said in the tape. Brizee looked at Laura.

      You could have recorded yourself and disguised your voice as hers, get off my property before I call the cops, Brizee said. She shut the door. She sat down with Jason. She picked up the phone and called Jackie.

      Hello, Jackie said.

      Mom, its me, Brizee said.

      Brizee, hi honey, whats wrong, you sound upset, Jackie said.

      Laura was just here, she played this tape of you saying that you gave me up for adoption, Mom, I need to know if you are telling the truth, I need to know whos lying, Mom, please, tell me the truth, Brizee said.

      Honey, you were our only daughter and though you were born at a bad time in our lives, we couldnt give you, she took you from us, that is the truth, honey, Brian knows we never lie, honey, she just wants you back, and she wants us out of your life, Jackie said.

      I hate this, Mom, why did I go over there in the first place, Brizee said.

      Honey, you wanted answers, but she lied to you for about 22 years, Jackie said.

      I need you guys down here, I dont know what to do, Brizee said.

      Well be right there, okay, go to Brians, Jackie said.

      Okay, bye, Brizee said. She got her purse and got Jason and his diaper bag and locked up the house and drove to Brians. She went in and saw Brian and  Brittany talking in the living room.

      Brian, Brizee said.

      Hey, sis, whats wrong, Brian said. Brizee told them everything.

      Briz, I know for a fact that you werent given up, I saw Laura take you, and Dad looked like he didnt want to, and I heard her say blackmail, Brian said.

      Are you sure? Brizee asked.

      Yes, Im positive, Brian said. Brittany took Jason. Brian hugged Brizee close.

      Why cant Laura leave me alone, Brizee said.

      I dont know, but Im going to take care of it, Brian said.

      Brian, no, stay out of it, Brizee said.

      Briz, you are my sister, and I love you, okay, it hurts me to see you go through this, Brian said hugging her tight. He left. Brizee sat down. Nick came in.

      There you are, Nick said. Brizee got up and hugged him tight.

      I love you so much, Brizee said resting her head on his chest.

      I love you, too, baby, you ok? Nick asked.

      No, Laura wont stop, Nicky, now Brian is going to talk to her and its going to be a mess, I need you to hold me, Nick, Brizee said. Nick hugged her.

      Ill hold you and never let go, Nick said kissing her on the top of her head and holding her close.

An hour later, Brian returned and saw Nick sitting on the couch with Brizee laying down with her head in his lap. She was asleep.

      Hey Frick, Nick whispered.

      Hey Frack, Brian whispered.

      So, what happened, Nick whispered.

      I told her that Briz was with her real family and that if she didnt give up, she would face a lawsuit, she said she was sorry and shell move on, I told her if she changed her mind, she would be facing a lawsuit, Brian whispered.

      So, shes giving up, Nick whispered.

      Yes, Brian whispered.

      Thank god, now we can move on from this, Nick whispered.

      Yeah, Brian whispered. Brittany came downstairs holding Jason.

      Hey, how did it go? Brittany asked.

      Good, it went good, no more trouble, Brian said.

      Thats good, Brittany said kissing his cheek.

The doorbell rang. Brian went and opened the door and saw Laura standing there.

      What now? Brian asked.

      Your mother called and asked me to meet them here, Laura said. Brian stepped aside and she came in and saw Nick sitting on the couch with Brizee asleep with her head in his lap.

      I wanted to apologize to her, Laura said.

      Save your apologies, Laura, Nick said.

      Nick, you have every right to be mad at me, Laura said.

      You bet I do, my wife is back with her family and you have to spread lies to get her away from them, thats sick, Nick whispered.

      I know, I wish I could take it back and just move on with my life, I wasnt thinking straight, Laura whispered.

      Then move on, Brian whispered.

      Im going to, Laura said.  Brizee woke up and stretched.

      Hey baby, sleep well? Nick asked.

      Yeah, Brizee said. She saw Laura and sat up.

      Im not here to do anything, your parents asked me to meet them here, Laura said.

      Briz, shes giving up, Brian said.

      Brizee, I was wrong about what I did and Im sorry, Im moving on, you are where you belong now and it was wrong of me to try to mess it up, Laura said.

      Why couldnt you let me be happy for once, Brizee said.

      Brizee, I am sorry, Laura said.

      You should be, Brizee said. Nick held her close.

      I am, Brizee, Laura said.

      Briz, I asked her to leave you alone or shell be faced with a lawsuit, Brian said.

      She could go to jail for kidnapping, Brizee said.

      Or blackmail, Nick said.

      I said I was sorry and I mean it, Laura said.

      You better not mess with me or my family, Laura, Im finally happy and I dont want anyone messing that up, Brizee said.

Three hours later, Jackie and Harold came in. They glared at Laura.

      How dare you! Jackie said.

      I am sorry, Laura said.

      Calling us liars! She is our daughter, Laura, not yours, you stole her from us! Harold said.

      You gave her to me, Laura said.

      You said you were sorry, now you are back to lying again, Brizee said.

      Brizee, its the truth, they gave you up for adoption, here are the papers, Laura said. Brizee looked at them. She looked at Jackie and Harold. She looked at Laura.

      What is the truth here, someone better tell it, Mom, Dad, Brian said.

      All right, its the truth, we gave you up for adoption, Brizee, Jackie said.

      WHAT! Brizee yelled.

      WHY! Brian yelled.

      You were really sick, Brian, and we were scared that we were going to lose you, Jackie said.

      So you gave your only daughter up for adoption, my sister! Brian yelled.

      We couldnt handle it, Harold said.

      We wanted her to have a better life, Jackie said.

      I cant believe you! Brian yelled.

      You all make me sick! Brizee yelled. She walked out back. Jackie followed her.

      Brizee, Im so sorry, I wish I could back and change things but I cant, Im so sorry, I just want to be your mother, Jackie said. Everyone came out.

      I dont have a mother! You gave up that right when you gave me up for adoption! Brizee cried.

      Brizee, please, we wanted what was best for you, Jackie said.

      You proved that you never wanted me, but giving me up, I grew up without my real family, now learning that they gave me up, makes me realize that I dont have a family, Brizee said. Nick came up to her.

      You have me and Jason, Nick said.

      Briz, you have me, Im your brother, Brian said coming up to her. Brizee hugged him.

      And you have Kevin, Nick said. Brian looked at Jackie and Harold.
