Brizee sat there in the tub. She heard the door open and she looked up and saw Nick standing there.

      What was AJ doing here, Nick said.

      Hes trying to get me into bed, Nick, he came onto me at the club and then when I came home, he was here naked on the bed, he wanted to make love with me, I think hes gone insane, Brizee said.

      Did you sleep with him? Nick said.

      No, I didnt, Brizee said.

      Do you want to, Nick said.

      Nick, are you crazy, I couldnt do that to you, Brizee said.

      I think you still have feelings for him, Nick said.

      What has gotten into you! Brizee said.

      I know you want him, okay, I can see it, go fuck him, see if I care! Nick said. He left. Brizee sighed and got out and dried off and put on her flannel pajamas. She sat on the bed and picked up the phone and called Brian.

      Hello, Brian said.

      B, I need to talk to you, Brizee said.

      Ill be right over, Brian said. She hung up and laid down on the bed. Ten minutes later, Brian came in and sat down on the bed.

      Whats wrong, sis, Brian said. She told him everything.

      He left, I dont know where he went or what hes thinking, Brizee said.

      Want me to go find him? Brian said.

      No, Ill be fine, but you could go talk some sense into AJ and get him to leave me alone, Brizee said.

      Ill do that, you go to sleep, come and lock up, okay, Brian said. Brizee followed Brian downstairs. She felt something.

      Brian, Brizee said holding her stomach.

      Briz, oh no, is it the baby? Brian asked.

      Yes, Brizee said. He grabbed her purse and keys and locked up and took her to the hospital. Dr. Kelly examined her.

      You got stressed out, thats all, you need to rest, Dr. Kelly said.

      Okay, thanks, Brizee said.

      I called Nick, hes on his way, Dr. Kelly said.

      Oh, Brizee said. She turned away from the door. Dr. Kelly looked at Brian. He shrugged. Dr. Kelly left the room. Brian sat on the bed.

      Briz, Brian said.

      Just go along with what Im going to do, Brizee said.

      What are you going to do, Brian said.

      Im going to get on with my life, without Nick, Brizee said. Brian looked and saw Nick walking down the hall.

      Here he comes, Brian said. Nick came in.

      Hey, what happened, Nick said.

      You should have been here, Nick, Brian said.

      I know, I needed to think about some things, Nick said.

      You were needed here, Brian said.

      Hows the baby, Nick said.

      There is no baby, Brizee said softly.

      Oh god, Nick said.

      And you and I are over, so get out, Brizee said.

      Briz, Im sorry for what I said, Nick said.

      Nick, just go! Brizee said.

      You heard her, man, Brian said.

      Why are you doing this to me! Nick said.

      Because you accused me of something that isnt true and Im sick of it! Brizee said.

      Just go, man, Brian said. Nick looked at Brian. He left. Brian sat on the bed as Brizee started to cry softly.

      Im going to go call Kevin and Theresa and see if they can pack some of your stuff, Brian said. He went down the hall and caught up with Nick who was leaning against the wall.

      Why does this happen to me, Nick said.

      Nick, the truth is that the baby is fine, it was just a slight pain, she is still pregnant, but Im going to send her up to Kentucky, just give her time, I know her, deep down this is killing her to push you away, she only did this so you would leave her alone, Brian said.

      I gotta talk to her, Nick said.

      Frack, no, just go home, let her come to you, Brian said. Nick nodded and left the hospital.  Brian called Kevin and Theresa and went back to Brizees room.

      Did I do the right thing, Brizee said.

      No, you lied to the man you love and the father of your child, Brian said.

      I gotta call him, Brizee said.

      Briz, he knows you are still pregnant, but hes going to give you time, you are going up to Kentucky to see Mom and Dad, Brian said.

      Okay, Brizee said.

The next day, Brizee was released and Nick was driving her up to Kentucky.

      Thanks for doing this, Brizee said.

      I have nothing better to do, Nick said.

      Im sorry, Brizee said.

      What for, you didnt do anything wrong, its me, Nick said.

      I was just upset, but Nick, I dont love him, Brizee said.

      I know, I know everything I said wasnt true, I dont know why I said it, I regret ever saying it, Nick said. He pulled into a hotel.

      Nick, Brizee said.

      Its late, Im tired, and you need to rest, and you shouldnt do it in a car, Nick said. He got out and went inside. She sat there and looked at her hands. She looked at her engagement ring. Nick came out. He waved at her. She got out and looked at him.

      I got a suite, it has two rooms, Nick said. He got their bags and they went up to the suite. She walked in and looked around. Nick put the bags down and closed the door.

      Nicky, Brizee said.

      Yeah, Nick said.

      Come here, Brizee said. He went over to her. She sat down and he sat down. She took his hand and put it on her stomach. He smiled. They sat there talking.
